Has anyone seen or used MasterCard Nearby services?

You sign up and are able to access the WAP site on your mobile phone, Blackberry or other mobile device with web/wap browser capability and view MasterCard, Cirrus or Maestro ATM locations, special offers and a merchant directory all based upon the location you input

I have not tried the merchant directory yet, so I am not sure if it lists preferred merchants (those that pay to be listed) or PayPass merchants, or just any and all merchants around a certain address, zip code or city/state that accept MasterCard.
The special offers seem to be geared toward the card number you input at registration. It appears I get offers from the MasterCard Premium Collection, not those that are down the street from my location: http://www.mastercard.com/us/personal/en/specialoffers/premiumoffers/index.html
The ATM locator is great. It provides the same information as 1 800 MC ASSIST and 877 FIND ATM, both services of MasterCard.

Also I have not tried to see if MC Nearby works internationally. 877 FIND ATM does just fine in the Caribbean.
I don’t think Visa or AMEX, much less Discover have anything near as nice, if at all, as this. This appears to be MasterCard run and does not involve any of the issuing banks.
