I got my SPG card today and intend to make it my primary, instead of my previous Chase BA Visa.
Anyway, I had a couple of questions I was hoping some kind FTs could help me out with:
1. I was not previously a SPG member. How do I know what my new membership number is, so I can check my SPG points online, and convert them to FF miles?
2. Where can I get details about CDW rental car insurance, purchase protection, free travel insurance on flights purchased using my Amex card, etc? I've tried on their website but it only has a cursory summary of the benefits available

I don't know of a URL for the rental stuff.
Did you have an SPG account before you signed up for the CC? If so, you can designate that as your SPG # by calling AMEX customer service. If not, a call to AMEX customer service will yield your #. I recall it taking a LONG time for SPG to send me my membership stuff when I originally signed up.

https://yourcarrentalclaim.com/claimsearch/aspx/aebenefits.aspx seems to have more details along with full t&c for many of the cards.

You could always read the pile of paperwork that arrived in the same envelope as your card.

I highly doubted it would as well, but SPG/AMEX actually have *REALLY* helpful customer service.
