Question
Has anyone had cash back crediting problems when using the Citi Bonus Cash Center, formerly called the Citi Dividend Merchant Network?
My Issue:
My problem is that my extra cash back bonus never posts in a reasonable amount of time to my Bonus Cash statement, and therefore my Citi Dividend statement. I usually follow-up with them (by forwarding merchant electronic receipt) after 3 months (90 days) and they basically reiterate the rules and say I have to wait at least 120 days as some merchants take that long to report. I do so, and they say they have sent it to the merchant for review, which takes at least another 30 days.
In each instance, all at different online merchants, I have used a VAN (Virtual Account Number) and each time I have to follow-up with them (Vesdia). One time it took 7 months from purchase to statement cash back. [And even then they only gave me cash back on the product amount, not the total purchases of shipping and taxes of which there is no exclusion.] I asked them if I can use a VAN for purchases despite my evidence that is causes problems with crediting the extra cash back and they replied I can continue to use a VAN. (I think they need to consult someone with technical expertise and provide better advice on this.)
I fear that others (including my mother) who are not as diligent as I may not be getting their extra/bonus cash back though this channel and therefore someone else is profiting (merchants likely since they are not paying out) on this feature of Citi Dividend cards.
I would presume the same issue could be applied to the Thank You Merchants Network and relevant Thank You Point cards?
Just wondering if anyone does audits on their Bonus Cash Center purchases.
Thanks.
