It's there, rminky. I missed it at first, also. Use the link in post # 4. Look at the box to the left of the credit card picture at the top. 'Receive $250 after your first purchase*' ;)

Thanks, glad you like them. I love to spread the wealth. My credit score has taken a hit all the way to 674 but that could be the 25 cards in the last 4 1/2 months. Oh well, $5,500 of value in bonuses($900 of that outright credit credited to cards) and the $80,000 I have working in 0% Balance Transfers caused that. And you can double all that since I've been doing the same with my wife's accounts

Answer
well, I guess its gone, no matter what I do I keep getting the screen without the $250 bonus.I have even tried 2 computers at work. Is anybody else able to get the "250" screen to come up?

Answer
despite the discussions about using different browsers/clearing cookie/cache etc.
I used IE just now and can see the ad on homepage after a few refresh. When clicked thru, the correct 250 flash page showed up.
While last night I had difficulty to get the correct page to come up.
All are done on the same computer - moreover, I already applied it last night - this led me to conclude about the browser or cookie or cache, really has nothing to do with how and when the dumb flash page popped up correctly! It seems to be a total random act!

Answer
Hey, thanks for this! The link in post #4 still shows $250 after first purchase for me.
I may be tapped out on Chase, though. I already have several from them. We'll see. It didn't give me an instant yes.

It's not just refreshing, you have to clear your cookies. Are you sure you're doing that correctly? I had your issue this morning after seeing the 250 yesterday, cleared cookies, closed browser, reopened browser, went to www.chase.com and hit refresh to cycle the ads. if $50 comes up you have to try it again.

This card apparently has a *wood-type reward where one can cash in 20,000 points for $250 in cash (effectively a 1.25% cash back card).
For anyone who currently has this card, are there other rewards that trump 1.25% cash back? The application mentions gift certificates, hotel stays, travel on airlines, etc.
I can't seem to find a rewards table on the internet. Perhaps, it is only available by mail when the card is sent.

Had nothing to do with cookie or cache - I have NOT cleared out the cookie nor cache - and I already applied last night, and the correct flash page still shows up for me.
Read my post earlier - same computer, same browser(s), with everything intact, it shows up correctly for me, even NOW.

No need to be trite. I was responding to rminky. I experienced what many here are complaining about. The way to cure it was to clear cookies. When I first went to the link, either link, it showed the $250. When I went back to them this monring, no $250. I could refresh a zillion times and it would still load the same non-$250 offer. Cleared cookies, back to $250 offer. YMMV

Answer
now no matter how you try, it wont even show any kind of offer - no 250 no 50 no 0%, all it shows now is the home equity loan.
The clearing of cookies/caches/different browsers - is nothing but co-incidence that the correct offer popped up when such acts have performed. Between 8pm thru pass midnight last night, the correct flash page was simply being disabled - no matter how you tried, you wouldn't see it.
This morning it worked without any effort - it worked until may be 7pm. It no longer shows. I open a Netscape browser that has NEVER been used on this computer - and it wont see anything on Chase.com home page - the offer is finally pulled completely. However, judging from last night's action - who knows, may be it would come back again. The major difference is, last night, the 250 offer can be seen from Chase.com, only the click-thru flash page is not coming up as it should. Tonight, as of now at 8 48pm eastern time, the offer is gone from Chase.com and wont show no matter how many times you refresh. It wont show under IE, Firefox, nor Netscape - versus this morning and most of the day, IE & Firefox can see it despite cookies and caches intact, history not cleared.

Thanks. I dont need to apply for second card - I only want to point out that it really doesn't mater on my own computer, whether cleaning out cookies/caches or not - when it shows, it shows, when it doesn't, eventhough everything cleans, it wont show.
For example, I have not cleaned anything, but the link you posted above, SHOWS. This is the flash page, the correct one. However, the ad on the Home Page of Chase.com, no longer shows, eventhough cleaning out cookies and whatnot, as well as changing browsers.
I had a screenshot of the flash page, also a print out. I wish I have done the same with the Home Page of Chase.com, on which the small box of the offer showed at the left bottom. I can no longer see that, despite cleaning out all the history, and even switched to Netscape - a browser that NEVER was used before on this computer (thus 0 thing has ever been saved.)

Not yet: first comes the item charged, than the bill, than the payment, than the crediting of bonus points, than the request to redeem the bonus points for the check.
Soooo.... estimated time to cash in hand: 6 - 8 weeks.

I forgot about this. 3 weeks and haven't heard anything, but since some of you are just getting a card, maybe I'll get one tomorrow. Heh. Or maybe I'm just denied....

Got mine today after all. How about that? Insane those guys are, given the credit line it is showing. I am waiting to hear that they closed one of my other accounts in favor of this one (something Citi has done with me in the past), but when that happened I got a letter about that before getting the card, so perhaps not.
Bring on that $250 bonus. I'll start using the thing and we'll see.

I know you have to "apply new," not just switch, but can any one answer this question - Will they ding my credit report if I've already got a Chase account (well, BankOne Visa Signature from several years back), even though I'm applying "new"?
American Express told me that I could apply for as many AmEx cards as I want since i'm already a cardholder, and they wouldn't touch it. I'm in the process of consolidating student loans and working on car & mortgage payments (nothing overdue or credit card debt), but I'm worried that having another card that I don't use (I almost solely use my AmEx One) will cause a lot of harm to my credit score (currently in the high 700s).

Most people on this forum feel that 5 points is about the most ones FICO will be reduced by a hard credit pull, so if you're in the upper 700's, that's alot of wiggle room, and more than enough to justify a 5 point hit for a $250 sign-up bonus, in my experience and opinion. ;) ^

Well, I went ahead and did the application, and got "30 Days Approval" response. First time I've gotten that in a while, probably annoyed because my personal income is zero right now, but household income is way higher. (I'm a student and I work for my parent's company in my spare time...and guess who doesn't really get paid for that?)

I would disagree with that rep. My whole family (4) was instantly approved and all of my friends that applied (9 total) got instant approval and received the card with in 10 business days.

Answer
Well, one never knows. I've never had a "non-instant approval" so I was very surprised (and I have a number of cards, most of which just sit in a drawer). I'll try calling again and talking to another CSR, see what happens. Maybe they're just overloaded with people trying to apply for that card today?
It's also possible that, since I have a BankOne card, that it may be affecting my application. I don't use my current Visa, so maybe that's why.

When my DW and I applied 3-4 weeks ago neither of us got instant approval. Her 'line' was we'll let you know w/in 14 days. My 'line' was we'll let you know w/in 30 days. Is there a phone number and/or offer code for those of us who can't get the info on the 'Net?

Answer
Spoke too soon. Got two letters today from Chase saying "Oh, you're approved for new Freedom card, but we're going to close XYZ account you haven't used in a while". So I guess I did hit a limit with them after all. But this is fine anyway. I haven't checked, but they're probably cards with smallish limits, and it'll be worth it for the $250. Funny thing is they were apparently platinum cards, and one of the letters (but only one, very odd, you would think they were the same except for the account number) has "platinum" misspelled! Hehehe.

Hm. Even without clearing anything I had no problem seeing the $250 bonus on the newer link in post #38, at least as late as sometime over the weekend (I think Sunday) if not yesterday. But it does not show for me now.

Having the same experience here. Worked this afternoon at work(applied for myself), no dice this evening at home when I went to apply for Mrs. Ripper3785. Based on what I've seen posted from people in this thread, it seems random, maybe based on time of day, but nothing is 100% clear. Gonna try again tomorrow and see what happens.

Answer
Once I get my $250 then I'm dumping this card. Or, should I keep it instead of another cashback card?

Answer
Do you like it and intend to use it? Keep it. Do you not like it? No plans to use it? Ask to consolidate the credit line into another Chase card that you have and close it. Apply for another one in 60 or 90 days and get another $250. That's business.

Some reported the $200 bonus posted with 1st closed statement when the first purchase was made promptly. According to the terms, you do have to make 1st purchase to trigger the bonus. The original offer terms also specified 6-8 weeks to post the bonus after making 1st purchase.

I'm shocked that Chase would make an offer like this. My DW got her check already and mine should arrive next week. This has to be in the "top five" of all c.c. offers. UA's 25K miles (worth anywhere from $200>$600) was another good one. There have been better c.c. offers, I'm sure, but I can't list them.
