Question
As a techie and a gamer, I've given up my AA and Marriott cards for the Best Buy Mastercard. I have more miles and points than I know what to do with and this card gives me a reward that is valuable to me. And I will use it MUCH sooner than I would use miles or points (since I already earn them faster than I use them). This card is not for everyone, but it works for me.
Answer
Dumb question this card is a straight 1% card except it gives 2% at best buy why not use any Citibank "Thank You Network" Card that gives more than 1 point per $ in certain places or Any Chase or BOA card for that matter as they all have Best Buy Gift cards avalible at a penny a point. Even MR from Amex has Best Buy Gifts as an option.
Answer
Right, or the Fidelity card which offers 1.5% cash back on all purchases. Lots of better options out there even if you don't want miles...

I actually signed up for this since its a no-fee card and, god knows, I buy more than enough gadgets. That said, BestBuy spend comes back at 4%, ie, $1000 @ BestBuy = $40 reward. Also, it's 2% on promotional purchases (right now it's restaurants and travel related stuff). I set my account up so the reward doesn't "issue" till $250 accumulates. When I get to these, it is often times a nice surprise and time to buy a new toy! Also the foreign transaction surcharge is only 1% (not 3% like a lot of the better used cards are). In the end, it works for me though, as always, YMMV.

OK you get 3% back using Citibank, Chase or BOA plus you would get 5% back in gas stations, drug stores and super markets. I assume like most people you spend more normally at gas stations, Supermarkets and Drugs stores over Best Buy over the full year.
You can use any credit card and get free reward zone card which gives you 2% at best buy on all purchase you do understand that right?
Some of the Credit card give you 5% or 3% at resturants and office supplies and computer stores. Ie some Advanta Business Visa is 5% at office supplies and computer stores which Best Buy counts as one so you would get 7% back using this card because of the 2% back using the reward zone card.

Obviously, you have no interest in this card. And for the record, yes, DUH! I do understand 2% comes from the Rewardzone program.
If I used this for all charges, then it would not be the best choice. As you stated correctly, there are a plethora of no-fee cash-back/rewards card's out there.
Having said this, there is one type of purchase I use this card a lot (if not, primarily) for: home appliances. It's practically the reason I got this card. I manage a few rentals and find using this card works out for me every time I need to replace various appliances (range, washer, etc,). Not to mention delivery is free so it beats out Sears in my book. Oh, and I bill my clients this charge anyway so no out-of-pocket for the rewards!^
It's also no-fee and it only charges 1% on foreign transactions (a rarity for cc's lately).
I just want to write my own experiences with regards to this card so others can see what it's all about. I totally agree with the OP; I like this card too. I'm not saying it's the super-bestess-card-in-the-whole-wide-world. That would be relative to each person's situation.
Frankly, so long as a balance isn't carried, I see no downside to no-fee cards. They would just ^ your FICO score since one factor used is what % of your aggregate credit limit you are using...
my 2 cents. seriously, just 2 cents...
