ticketed on an expiring credit card...

Question
what will happen?
I booked a flight in early February - departing mid-march. Visa card is expiring in February 07, so before the flight. No money has been taken out of the account by the airline yet. amadeus shows confirmed and e-ticket is received.
what will happen? shall i contact the credit card company or the airline if no money has been taken out until the 28th?

Answer
The charge will be processed even if your card has "expired". Has the bank sent you a replacement card with a new expiration date?

Answer
no, I cancelled the card...
I assume the amount is probably reserved on the card, so the airline will get it anyway and even if they take the money in March, they will receive it and it will show up in my last statement.

Answer
A lot of banks will charge you a fee if a charge posts after you canceled the card. You may want to call the airline to switch the card if possible. Or reactivate the card, wait for the charge, then cancel it again.

I would hate to be in this predicament. How many things could go wrong? Ticket could get cancelled. Charge could get rejected. Bank could charge a bunch of fees. Credit could be damaged. Now I don't know if any of this could happen for sure, but I would be worried.

This is your best bet. Change the card now before a problem arises.

Answer
