I don't understand your post. If the bank merges and you anticipate adverse changes to its policies, why would I want its card? Any changes will likely affect all cards, new and old.

Before they put a moratorium on application or stop issuing the current ones. Compass is good about giving lifetime programs and changing them for applications in the future, but leaving them as they are for the existing customers.
