Question
I have a Citi Amex from nearly a year ago. My year is almost up so I'm planning to cancel.
What's their retention like? Do they try to keep you, and what do they offer?
Does anyone know if there are any other offers for Citi Amex cards with bonus miles? I see the usual MC offers, but nothing from Amex.

I got the Citi Amex Premier Pass which came with 5000 TY points and has no fee.
A new Citi AA Amex comes with 15,000 bonus miles.

Go to CITI's website and view all their cards & bonuses. Do the same at B of A's site. First, go to Gary's site and see ALL the deals & bonuses. http://www.freefrequentflyermiles.com/index.htm

Inspired by this thread I just called Citi and said I was going to cancel my AA Amex card since annual fee would be coming up in a few months and I don't use it much.
First the nice retention lady offered my a two for one certificate on AA which I rejected since I already some of these pretty much useless certificates. Then she offered me double miles on all charges for six months or five miles per "everyday" purchase at groceries, gas stations and pharmacies. She didn't know how Costco fit into this (I suspect it is not coded as any of the three). She also told me I could call back when my fee came due and ask if they had any fee waiver deals then (right now, she says, no fee waiver deals, but promos change all the time) and, of course, I would, per Citi policy have 45 days to cancel after fee is billed.
I am looking forward to my five miles on "everyday" purchases. ^
PS: cap on five for one miles is 5K on this offer.
