Question
Hello All,
I was wondering because so many of you have churned United cards how often you can apply for a new card with chase? I just signed up for thier +1 card which gives a $20 dollar amazon credit (pretty slick student deal) and wanted to see how many days I can wait before I open a continental card?

Don't think there is a limit on the overall Chase applications (as long as they are for differnet FF programs). However, the Chase UAL card eliminated the "churning".
Answer
60 days
Answer
60 days
for all reasons
30 for banking purposes.
Answer
Actually, there's really no true limit. People have (on other finance/credit forums) applied to several (2 - 3 per issuer) cards in the same day. Your only hard limit will be dependant on how many hard inquires you currently have on your reports within the last 6 - 12 months, and your income level + credit score/history.
You could apply for 2 in the same day and get denied on the 2nd. You could apply for 4 and get 4 instant approvals. Some say wait 60 days (even the banks do), but depending on what's on your report, "too many inquiries" or "too many applications" could still occur.

Thanks Everyone,
I actually opened up 2 free student checking accounts with chase today and got 5k bonus miles. My "personal banker" said I should apply for a 25k united personal next month and then a 21k bonus buisness card the month after that putting me around 51k miles in bonuses.
I also had a question for all of those who buy things. Do money orders purchased at the post office get miles? Often when i buy at usps it only lists the location on my credit card bill. Can they tell if i bought a money order and not give me the miles?
I just wanted to also thank you all of you who have responded for helping me add a little luxury to my student travel.

Money orders at the USPS can only be purchased with a debit card. A credit card will not work.
