Hi,
A couple days ago, I read a threat regarding getting 20,000 points for opening up a checking account with Citi bank. One member was kind to give out the promotion code for this offer. Today, I tried to search this threat again this morning to get the promotion code, I could not find it. I tried advance search but I could only find the one for AA mileage. I need the one for TY points. Thanks in advance for your help.

I called on 12/26 and said I had heard about the promotion and wanted 20,000 points for opening a Citi checking account. I was transferred to an account rep, who took the promotion code and all was smooth sailing. I asked whether he was sure the 20,000 would post since I understand the promotion deadline to be 12/31. He said as long as he put it into the computer by then.

I called last week to open an account with some question. The associate could not answer it and asked my phone # to call back. I didn't get the call back. I called it today to open the account and asked them to honer it. They did. It's citi gold though.

Could you explain what did you mean by citigold. Was it a citi credit card or a citi checking account? Did you call the same phone # and ask for the same promotion code (1-800-374-9500 Promotion Code is CED8) If not, what were they? Thanks

For those of you who missed out, don't be too upset. I'm gone through a million problems trying to ensure that I get this promotion. They've opened up two different accounts for me, blocked my money longer than it should have been, and various other problems.
They did, however, tell me that I'll get 50 free checks instead of the 150. Yippee.
This is not the way for them to keep customers.

For those of you who obtained the 20k TY points for opening the checking account, how long did it take for the points to post? Do you need to wait until the end of the 6 months or have they posted sooner? Curious because have some travel coming up and wondering if I will have these in time. Thanks.
