Question
hello all,
I just recently got approved for a PP elite card and was wondering how one goes about getting a 299 coach ticket. I am searching Delta and AA and unfortunately they only have tickets below $230. When I called Citibank they found me a ticket for $670 at 6 a.m that would qualify for a companion ticket but as I understood it any coach fare over 299 would count. If anyone has any experience of light they could shed on this subject please let me know.

Hi Maize and Blue, I remember you from the other thread. Congrats on getting approved for the card. On the companion tickets, here is the story...
1. You must call Customer Service. They will put you in touch with a travel vendor that handles all companion ticket purchases.
2. You must purchase the ticket from the travel vendor to get the companion ticket.
3. The prices are usually pretty high. Ask them if it is a full fare ticket. This may have advantages if you wish to upgrade.
Answer
Companion Pass number is 866-553-2082. This is the Citi Premier Pass Companion Ticket Program number.
Answer
Companion Pass number is 800-421-0600 via AA Advantage Pass Customer Service -- open 24 hours, but the companion pass desk is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
I think you're confusing two issues. It seems like you're referring to the AA companion tickets you sometimes get with the Citi AA card. This thread is about the companion ticket program available with the Citi PremierPass Elite card.

Agreed. I just edited the number to the correct one.

As I type this message, there is a banner ad on the top of this page for PP saying "get a complimentary companion ticket for every qualifying ticket you buy." I clicked on the ad and reviewed the T&Cs but unfortunately there is no description of the companion travel benefit. Do I correctly understand from this thread that one must purchase a ticket that is at least $299 to get a companion ticket? Any other info about restrictions and other pertinent terms would be appreciated. Seems like a deal that must be too good to be true for couples that fly often. Many thanks!

Yes, it is too good to be true.
I don't think there's a dedicated thread here about the companion ticket program, but there are probably some experiences posted in the main PremierPass thread:
