I have the chase continental card where i get 1 mile for every $1 - but there is a $45 annual fee - anyway to get the annual fee waived. Thanks

Apply for a new card, cancel the old card.

Call and ask to cancel. They should offer you no annual fee at a reduced rate of $2=1 mile. I did this a couple of years ago, but my card now gives me $1=1mile and still no annual fee.

I'd love the bonus miles, but can't suck it up to pay for the sign up fee when there are so many other airlines just giving it away!
