Question
Yesterday, I got a bulk mailing from Citi that I thought was a gazillionth offer for a new card; it wasn't! It really looked like useless junk mail. However, inside was an offer for 2000 AA bonus miles for any 10 purchases (after telephone registration of the unique ID# provided) through 31 Dec, 2006 (disclaimer to allow a couple of days for the registration to stick) .
Look for a square envelope stating Earn travel rewards faster with AAdvantage bonus miles for purchases through 12/31/06. See details inside.

Haven't received this offer yet and am usually not targeted for special promos so I'm wondering if you use your card regularly and if you charge a lot or a little on the card? Thanks for the help.
Answer
Regularly but not that much -- avg around $200/mo
Answer
I haven't received this assumedly targeted promotion for either the cards that I use regularly or the cards (churn cards) that I never use...
Answer
There was a phone number?
Anyone have that number laying around.
Thanks
Answer
FWIW, 800-278-1052. First thing it asks for is your 10-digit Invitation Number, though.
Now thinking of ways to charge up nickels and dimes -- single copies at Kinko's, maybe. I rarely used this card over the past year.

When did your 10th purchase occur? What was your previous statement closing date?

My statement closing would fit as the 14th. I haven't been tracking the purchases exactly, but was likely a week or two before that.
Answer
Was posted 2,000 miles, but never registered.
Answer
I think there were different promos (as they always do). I got something like spend at least $20 at a grocery store 3 times and get 2,000 miles. Or was it get $20? Something like that. I have the promo slip somewhere, just not handy right now. Didn't need to register, but it was pre-linked to my CC account.
Answer
Citi usually does these sorts of promos for accounts which have not been used much for a while. The idea is to get you in the habit of using the card.
I just got one for 2K miles for 20 uses in a two month period on a card I hadn't used for six months. Used for a bunch of charges immediately and have already gotten the bonus miles posted.
Getting the miles requires registration with a unique number apparently keyed to the solicited account number. In other words, no one else can use the promo sent to you.
Answer
I don't recall getting anything in the mail about this, did anyone find a way to do it with an invitation?
Answer
By any chance: renewed?
