1- how do I change my "primary" credit card or sponser account?
I stupidly registered my first card which I will not be using. At that time that was my only citiproduct.
BTW- I never got the e mail from them "three days" later telling me that my card was "Activated".
The T&C's say only One thank you points account per person.
should I open a second telling CSR what I am doing and ask for a good will adjustment.
(I only have the 15,000 ty points from the sign-up first purchase anyway).

I don't think this makes a difference....Just add your new card to the acct and delete the old card....
I have my Chairman and my Premier Pass Business all in the same acct....

You can only have one card earning thankyoumerchants points. Just call CS and explain your situation. I did this last week and changed my earning a/c from PP-elite to Chairman.

Supposedly TY Merchants has been revamped recently so that a) a credit card account is no longer necessary to use it and b) the points post directly to the TY Account (and not the credit card account). Haven't tried it though.

Not true, you can add as many CC sponsor accounts into your TY account as you want. I personally have 4 in there.

I have TY points but it appears 10,000 points will only get you about $100 of reward no matter how you slice it (In some cases $100 gift cards for 9,000 TY points). Still I am trying to see if I should save the points or go ahead and redeem 10,000 of my 11,000 points for something now...I am not earning any more. Thoughts? Thanks.

If you're not going to earn any more, I'm not sure what you're waiting for. You don't earn interest on points, so unless you see some merchandise you like, go ahead and get a gift card.

Citi has a special on gift card redemptions now. I think its 4,500 for some of the $50 gift cards.

writetorich - in case it was not clear, you can have 1 ThankYou account, but several sponsor accounts that feed points into it. You just have to add the sponsor accounts. ThankYou customer service did this for me (I have the checking account and a card). But if you don't like your card, call the Card and tell them you want something new. (I switched from Citi/AAdvantage to PremierPass this way.)
