mbna fidelity card

Question
I've heard that boa will not be supporting this card post-merger. Has anyone heard anythign about this or the implications for current holders?
if the card will be phased out, would appreciate any visa/mc suggestions with 1.5% rebate or higher on all purchases. thanks in advance.

I'm a giant fan of the Citi PremierPass card. Though not a cash back card per se, you can earn the equivalent of 2% back if you travel enough to accrue sufficient flight points.

Are you referring to the "Fidelity Investment Rewards Card" (1.5% if redeeming as cash) and the "Fidelity Investments 529 College Rewards Card" (2.0% but must go into 529 account)?
If so, bummer.

I had been referring to the Fidelity Investment Rewards Card. It appears as if you can still apply through fidelity. perhaps the card will continue, but be managed by another bank.

Where did you hear the card was going to be discontinued?

Answer
Where did you hear the card was going to be discontinued?
Just to clarify, this is what i've seen/heard.
it appeared that online payments were done through mbnanetaccess historically. mbna was bought by bofa. i tried transferring my online account to bofa but the fidelity did not go through. I called bofa and asked what the story was and they said that they would not be supporting the card and directed me to another website for online payment.
looking at the card now, i noticed that there's nothing suggesting mbna on the card; so maybe mbna just handled online payments and that will go somewhere else and the card is not discontinued? the fact that you can still apply for the card via fidelity suggests that that's the case?

Answer
When BofA bought MBNA, there were private label credit cards such as Merrill+ that MBNA did the servicing for. In the case of Merrill+, Merrill wanted to keep it as private label with MBNA still doing the servicing but no stated connection with BofA. As such, access to account information through mbnanetaccess.com was discontinued since the now BofA branded cards went through BofA online banking for access. Additionally, where payments were mailed, e-bills, etc. were either changed or discontinued. I would imagine something similar occurred for the Fidelity card. If I were you, I'd call CS for the card and ask what will occur with the card.

Answer
Received my new card without any Fidelity logo. FIA services now is the service provider. Web site should look to familiar to users of mbnanetacess.com. Logon ID and password remain the same.
