Question
I have had the Chase Ultimate Cash Rewards card for several years. It gives me 1.5% cash back with no limits. Last evening I got a letter in the mail that says Chase is changing my card to some "better" card that gives me 1% cash back....
How can Chase change my cash rebate? How can Chase claim that 1% is better than 1.5%?
Can anyone recommend another card that will give me $1.5% cash back on all purchases with no limits. I charge about 100,000 per month on the card.

It is probably "better" for them...
1. AMEX Blue Cash or AMEX Cash Rebate (not platinum) - Once you spend $6,500, everyday spending gets 5%, everything else gets 1.5%
2. Fidelity Investments Visa Signature (MBNA) - You get a 1.5% yield when you transfer rewards to your Fidelity account
3. AMEX Platinum Cash Rebate - 1.5% after spending $5,000
Answer
Penfed 1.25% flat cash back. Automatically credited towards the next statement. You will have to join NFMA for $20 (one-time only) and keep $5 in the attached savings account. So you'll end up spending $10,000 to break even vs. a flat 1% cash back card without any membership requirements.
Answer
Yes, I posted back in Feb about a true 2% cash-back, with $1,000,000 annual cap (ie max of $20K rebate).
Sad its w/ Discover, which is not always easy to use. Also, apparently to get to the full-strength 2% you must get to $10K.
But, unlike Costco's program, where (I am told - don't know for sure) one must use their rebate at the store via "store credit", Sams / Discover actually sends you a check for your rebate. A local Sams manager told me about this over a year ago, and told me they have several local customers who get just short of $20K rebate checks annually (because of the tiered rebate up to the first $10K, one can never get the full $20K).

Answer
MBNA/Fidelity also have a 2% rebate card that puts the full 2% into a 529 account for college savings.

Unfortunately, reading the fine print the most you can earn is $1,500 a year. I will probably do it anyway, but that's not only about a week's worth of charges for me. I would be very interested in a card with that rate of return that was unlimited or had a much higher limit.
