Another Citi churn question

Question
After you get a new Citi AAdvantage card and the bonus miles post, do you cancel the card or convert/consolidate it or do something else?
Can you can only submit an application for a specific card type every 60 days, but you can apply for another type of Citi AAdvantage card within that 60 day window?
thanks!

I applied for both the Citi AA MC and Amex cards within a few days of each other, and one of the applications was denied due to having applied for another new card too soon. (The first one went through fine.)
I also recall reading something about only applying for non-preset limit products once every X days during the application process, so this could be what's causing that.

Answer
The limit is two non-cobranded personal applications in 60 days. Professional, business, Sears, etc cards do not apply to the limit. I'm not sure if AA cards are considered co-branded or not.
I applied for and was approved for the Citi AA MC and Citi AA AMEX on the same day. I had two other Citi cards at the time.

I had two Citi cards myself at the time, and had applied for the previous one over 60 days prior. I wonder if the difference here was that you applied for both at the same time rather than waiting a bit as I did, so perhaps the systems hadn't updated with the new applications to cross-reference yet...

Answer
Keep in mind that, whatever the rules purportedly are, the entire system works in some rather irrational ways.
For example, I am aware of a couple who both had AA cards, both applied for new personal and business cards during the 25th Anniversery promotion for 25K miles bonus. One got both the cards, one got only one card and was denied the second on the claim that he had applied for another card within sixty days, evidently the card he applied for on the next two minutes before.
He just let the whole thing go and applied for another AA card 60 plus days later (which he got).

I've never heard of the 60 day thing with Citibank AA. It hasn't happened to me in my churning...

It happened to me when I tried to take advantage of the AA anniversary offer in a span of three days.
Right now, I have one open card and one I just cancelled last week...usually I wait 15-20 days to reapply online...

Answer
Can you churn non-cobranded cards such as the Premier Pass Elite, and get the sign up bonus each time? How about the PP Business card?

don't know...never tried it....since I get so many pts with myChairman card...figured out that it is btter to churn the AA card...
Now if the new chairman card lets you transfer the point for AA miles...then we will have to start churning PP cards...
