Question
Hello,
I got this number from one of the chairman CSRs who told me that if I don't want to enter my card number into the phone I can just call this number and it will go directly to a live person. I have been using it for about a week and it seems to work very well.
I don't think the number is specific to the chairman card, but every time I have called I got a chairman CSR.
Just thought I'd pass it on.

I want a non-800 number. As I've previously stated, it costs me 6.7p to call an 800 number from the UK, vs 5p for a non-800 number. And this is a matter of principle since I KNOW it does not cost more to connect an 800 number call, so I am unwilling to give that small fraction of money to my carrier here.
A non-800 number that goes directly to the Chairman phone-tree, specifically. (So I can pick a CSR or a Personal Assistant.) That's what I want. Not quite sure why it's so hard for them to provide one. It takes ~2.5 minutes to get to a Chairman CSR via calling the regular 605 number. Even longer if you want a Personal Assistant since the regular CSR folks don't know what a Personal Assistant is, so you generally get transferred to a Chairman CSR first.
I've commented to Citi on this multiple times, and it SEEMED to be slightly better a couple weeks ago when on three calls, I was twice transferred to a "specialist" (e.g. Chairman CSR) without asking. But my last two calls in the past three days were no better than in the past.
Seriously, how hard is it to program their systems to recognize a Chairman Card number and route it to the Chairman phone tree? Can I have a couple hours playing with their PBX system to fix it please? :)
