Question
Has anyone applied for and used the Travelocity credit card?
If so, I would be interested in your experiences. The reward structure seems pretty interesting: especially once you redeem large amounts of points.

Answer
Interesting, this one is issued by Barclays/Juniper.
I wouldn't say that its a great card by the looks of it, but it does have some interesting benefits and redemption ratios. >1% cash back on higher ammounts is a nice touch, and the 20k points for up to a $400 credit on an Airline or Airline and hotel purchase is interesting too (this would be useful for my BOS-LHR trips in coach where I don't want to blow 50k miles or TY points for a $500 ticket - this would cost me just $100+20k points).
I doubt that many on this forum will care for it (as there seems to be a hatred for any propietary points system, and theres no first class options here), but the ability to cash out at 1.33% cash back while having the flexibility to get 2% back on travel purchases is neat, but only if exploted correctly (I know they will get people cashing out 20k points for $150 flights to Las Vegas).
In the end though, for a $30 annual fee, I think I'd rather use Amex SPG, but it is an interesting card. Premierpass also virtually guarentees you 2% back with flight point matching for those who fly enough, but at the cost of a higher annual fee (or a lot more flight points for the no annual fee card).
If you do a balence transfer, you essientally get the fee back in free points (although you would end up a little bit ahead because you could cash out at the 7500 point level, but the extra 2500 points would just sit there until you spent another $2500).
Answer
I am considering this card as it appears to be a 2% cash back equivalent. Does anyone have any experience with the travelocity card and the reward experience?
Thanks,
