the phone companies keep refusing to put thru the toll number on the back of the card we are told to call. anybody else having this trouble? I have had it in sweden, france, and norway?

Nope! Never had a problem. Try using AT&T world service to make your international collect call. I've used them to reach Citibank and Chase from Germany, Thailand, and New Zealand without any problems.

never had problem with citibank, its mostly juniper bank, amex regular the 336 area code, and mbna. When I use att, verzion, sprint, or even bellsouth access codes the operators tell me the tel. number is blocked.
