Question
I tried searching but was not having any luck. Is there a thread for the credit card forum that summarizes all of the cards out there and what they offer?
Answer
The Which Credit Card Should I Choose thread in MilesBuzz is probably up your alley:

Is not comprehensive in any way, but talks about the thought process in choosing a credit card.
Answer
Thanks acf573, just the type of thread I was looking for
Answer
That's a good thread.
I saw this lurking in one of the other topics before as well. It has a lot of comparison information for the cards and a spreadsheet to fiddle around with:

all roads seem to lead to the starwood card.

Starwood AMEX is a great card but please note that there are discussions going on in the SPG forum that Starwood is probably going to increase its redemption rates. This increase would devalue the points you accrue via the AMEX card since the points required per night would increase.

Yeah, it sucks...but it would still be among the best for earning toward most airline awards....so long as the 5000 mile bonus stays.
The increase on the hotel side will make it more like Hilton.

Here is the best place to find info on all of the cards available (http://www.freefrequentflyermiles.com/index.htm). It doesn't always show the highest bonuses but if you use that site and this one you'll find what you're looking for.

These are all good links, thanks. I currently have the Starwood Amex that I use for the bulk of my purchases. As a SPG Platinum it really gives me the best return for my $ per points earned. When gas prices went up I got a AAA Visa which gives you 5% of your gas purchases back. I realize I am giving up a lot with the non gas purchases I put on it. I also realize it does not give you the rebate when you go to BJ's Wholesale for gas. So I started researching to see what card will give me the best value for my charges.
I went to creditcards.com which shows a lot of options. When looking at the different offering yesterday I had the idea to possibly write an article for a newsletter my group at work puts out. Might try and compare the value credit card companies have for points versus what consumers value. I want to see if some cards are more profitable or they adjust for the values in fees and rates.
