I just got this email offer sent to me by NWA. From what I can tell this is a better offer than what they were offering previously. It looks like the 20,000 bonus is all at once and not some now some later. Would be nice if it was no annual fee for the first year though...

Depends on how hurting you are for the bonus miles and if you want to keep the card a second year. I've had a WP Visa for a while, and signed my wife up for the 20K deal. I'm planning on cancelling hers before the second year.

I just applied for the Northwest WorldPerks card and it told me that a decision could not be instantly decided and to check back within the next day or so to see if I have been accepted for the signature card...
Is this common for it to do this?

Instant for me, delay for my wife. Her's was eventually approved and we had the card in about a week.

Edit: And be sure to sign up with the 20K Bonus Play promotion. You'll get 2000 additional bonus miles if you're approved for the card before Sept 30th.

Yes .. I didn't get an instant decision either.
Just call the CSR in two days and they should tell you if you're approved for the Signature card. If not, they may approve you for the Platinum card instead.

It usually takes up to two weeks to get a decision about approval. Amex is better with instant online approval. Patience is a virture :cool:

I just received my platinum NW worldperks card. I had this card previously and canceled it back in January. However, customer service told me that I will receive the 15,000 bonus miles for this card.
Just wanted to pass that along for those of you who may be in the same boat.
