Question
My wife called to cancel her Alaska Airlines Visa today, thinking that she had until the payment due date on the statement on which the annual fee posted to cancel the card and get the $75 fee removed. Of course when she called up she was informed that she really only had 30 days past the post date for the annual fee, and that she was a week past that. The rep apparently wouldn't budge, and wouldn't let her talk to anyone else, and kept just insisting that those were the terms she signed.
Any advice on how to get them to remove the fee? How risky would it be to just not pay the annual fee & cancel the card?
