attractive... where did you find this offer? the ad at right offers only 4000 bonus points after 1st purchase.

Answer
Nice find, but wouldnt you put it in the AMEX section not the "other CC" section ?

Answer
Yes, it does belong in the AMEX forum and if you look there you will see that this offer has been mentioned several times already.

Answer
Many thanks to Duke for the post.
I was just about to confirm my info, then I decided to come to this site to see if there were any special links, and I found this thread.
It's scary how quick they approve you for these things. Within 15 seconds of clicking, I got the card with a credit limit well into the teens.

Answer
Are the points only valid for first time users of the AMEX Starwood (i.e. such as Delta AMEX bonus pts are only for first time applicants)?...........

I believe that AMEX tracks bonuses carefully, but, if you applied through this offer, you would be entitled to any bonus points above the amount of bonus points that you received in a previous sign-up bonus.
Example, if you previously applied for AMEX *wood in 2005 and received 4K sign-up bonus, you would be able to apply again and get 2k bonus. If you are still a current card holder, don't know if you have to cancel existing card first. This is based on FT threads that I have read on this subject.
As an alternative, try the following. When I signed for AMEX *wood, sign-up bonus was 4k, and I was not aware of 6k offer when I signed up. After second statement, I called AMEX and asked about 6k bonus, and they gave me the difference without any argument. ^
You may need to have some spend for them to give up the extra points, though.

Answer
Just called AMEX since I applied under the 4k point deal a month ago. The CSR said that they don't match up offers and don't give miles, although he was able to give me 1500 just in this case. ;)

Answer
I applied for the Starwood Amex when they were offering only 4000 points. The very next day I learned that they were now offering 6000. When I recieved my card and called to activate it, I asked if it was possible to get 6000 points instead of 4000. They told me that since the points come from Starwood I would have to cancel my card and reapply in order to get the extra points. I canceled and reapplied and they have already posted the 6000 points to my account.

Answer
Have received the 6000 point bonus a couple of times. I did wait about 10 months between applications and about 4 months after I cancelled the first card.

Answer
I signed up through the link and received the card last week. I made a purchase at the local drugstore to get my 6000 Starpoints bonus.
Still waiting for the points to post to my account.

Answer
Thanks for the link, I just finished signing up and will receive the card soon. I am assuming the additional 6,000 comes from 1,000 for the first *wood stay paid with the *wood Amex and 500 additional points each stayed paid with the amex after that.
It does not specically spell thsi out in the link. I am getting this info directly off the amex sitefor the other 5,000 points. Is that correct.
