Do number of and limits on your credit cards affect car insurance cost?

Question
I've read it does but even my own insurance agent can't tell me if it really does or not. I have lots of cards and get new ones whenever a good offer comes along and it doesn't seem to make any difference on my car insurance costs. Of course it's hard to tell because the insurance goes up anyway every six months.

Answer
Actually, I kind of get my insurance cost lower after obtaining larger credit limits on several of my credit cards. Perhaps it's just coincidence? I haven't seen any of insurance company I have dealt with appear on my credit report, so I guess that isn't a way for them to know how much credit one obtains. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Answer
Depends on the insurance compnay you are using.
Some auto insurance companies actaully will use your credit score in determining your auto rate.
