Question
Please forgive me if this has been asked before. Are there any credit card companys that let you earn mileage credit on the checks they sometimes enclose in the monthly bill? I have never used the credit card checks in the past but I am getting ready to build a new house and I thought that they may come in handy for the subcontracters that are not set up to take credit cards.
Answer
chase united mileage plus visa does, you'll get half of the dollar amount in miles ( ex. 1000 dollar balance transfer gives you 500 miles)
Answer
You may want to look at Juniper (the new US Air and either Frontier or Midwest). Watch out for balance transfer fees, typically 3%, but sometimes capped or waived.
Answer
Convenience checks used for general purchases count as cash advances and have terms less favorable than balance transfers (transaction fee and higher interest rate). Even cards that offer miles for balance transfers don't usually offer them for cash advances.
I'm not aware of any card that offers miles for convenience checks. Some do offer miles for balance transfers, but will charge a fee around 3%, plus have limits on how many miles you can earn.
