Question
Hi all:
New here to Car rental section of this forum. Boy do I have a story for you - Net Net first: Hertz Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport will screw you royally:
I arrived at CDG without a car reservation, obviously stupid, but willing to take my chances. I'm a Hertz Gold member, so I assumed everything would be cool - wrong.
I was traveling from Paris to Normandy, round trip 1 day due to my flight to LHR. Hertz gave me 2 days, 300 kilometers for each day. My needed distance was 600 kilometers, and I explicitly told Hertz that I would need this in full for 1 day. The charge: $200 USD for a Mini Cooper, which was fine.
I return the car. They charge me for 2 days, disregarding I returned it in 1 day. I asked them to remove the 2nd day, and rightfully so. After speaking with 3 employees and getting the run around, they tell me the Manager can only adjust the charge and he is out all day - what the hell?!?! They don't even speak hardly any English, making this more difficult.
Hertz tells me to call the 1-800. I tell them no, we're taking care of this right now. 5 minutes later, 3, I repeat 3, managers walk in from lunch. Let the lies begin...
The manager tells me he can remove the 2nd day charge, but that I was over my mileage limit, DOUBLE, for 1 day. He says it's the equivalent for 2 days anyways, so it doesn't matter. Hertz apparently did not give me the mileage for my trip in 1 day, when I again explicitly told them I would have it back to them in 1 day.
Protesting with Chase United MP card, and they're taking care of.
Bad business from Hertz Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport...
Sorry for the long post. Rants, comments, or positives appreciated

This is a credit card forum. Not a rental car forum.
