I have several airline CC, and the only regular double is on ticket purchases. United seems to be the only one with semi-regular double promos besides ticket purchases

United is running a double miles right now.
You need to register and it costs $50.
Kewl thing is I believe they will double all your visa purchases from Oct 1 to Dec 31.
I can't find the link to register anymore.
They have another double miles but that is for education/school purchase and you must spend over 1k. (but this one is free)

I got a postcard from United that it's double miles for everything (double checked the postcard --- everything) from Nov 15 to Jan 14, you don't have to register (automatic) and it definitely doesn't cost you anything. I am not sure if it's targeted or if it's for all Chase United Visas. Mine is a Signature Visa. I have never heard of any promotion with anyone that cost any money --- are you sure about that?

lasttime i called them they told me groceries gas flights,although it could me more things. it doesn't hurt to call, there is a 800 number.

Ive got the same deal, once its over so is the use of the card. Except for a friend that owes me 15,000 miles from AA, that I want on UA so he'll charge my UA card, once thats in the bank the card is gone.
Too bad he cant charge the 15,000 till April.

Very unusual situtation for US Airways...they have two affinity cards from two different banks for a while..the new bank is Barclays
Barclays is giving out 1.5 US Airways frequent-flier miles for every dollar charged in the first year after it issues a new card to a customer; the normal rate of earning is one mile per dollar for both the Barclays and the Bank of America card. Barclays is also waiving its $79 annual fee for its card for two years from the date of issue; Bank of America levies a $90 annual fee for its US Airways miles-earning product.
