Question
Living in Amsterdam (Netherlands) for a few years. I have kept my US credit cards but it is not economic to use them over here. My bank has a credit card program but it is very basic - pay fee get visa. Are there any credit cards I can apply for that provide a benefit (miles, points, etc.) or other recommendations?
Answer
There is the American Express International Euro Currency Card (http://www.americanexpress.com/icc/homepage.shtml) which is billed in Euros and participates in Membership Rewards. They should be able to access your USA Amex history, if any, to expedite application.

Answer
If you fly Lufthansa or are a Miles & More member, you should be able to get a Miles & More VISA denominated in Euros that gives you one M&M mile per € charged.
If you're a SEN, Miles & More will even eat the annual fee.

Not a MM member but am a UA 1k. Not sure but would it work for that or would I have to open a MM account and then do a transfer to UA?

Lufthansa Gold VISA (for, I think, 105 Euros per year including the "Business package") is the only card we've found in Europe that includes collision insurance (with self-deductible) on rental cars internationally. (The price of the card is amortized after 2 weeks of U.S. car rentals). Also good in that your Lufthansa miles never expire as long as you have the card.
Answer
Is the Miles and More Visa available for residents of France? The only online application I found is in German and seems to require documentation that only a German resident would have.

I have checked their offer ... nice bonus miles ^
And yes, it looks, that you have to be a German resident, not a German citizen. This card is from Deutsche Bank. You may contact Deutsche Bank in Paris...
