Question
Against my better judgment, I applied for the Chase Continental World Mastercard. Since DC is pulling out of Onepass my I finally gave in.
I applied via the continental website, where they offer 15,000 Onepass miles upon first purchase. A week later I receive a letter in the mail saying that I have been declined Reason: Duplicated Application. I only applied once, but I'm guess something may have screwed up with the application system. My credit is excellent so I don't think thats an issue.
So I'm wondering, do I call Chase right away, or wait and see if a card arrives this week?
Anyone else had this issue?
Answer
Did you by chance double click on the submit button. This can cause a dup appl which then means neither appl will be processed. Do you have a print-out or confirmation number from when you submitted the appl online.
Don't wait - call Chase right away. It is probably a simple website glitch but you want to make sure. Since the reason for declination was given as dup appl it shouldn;t be a ding on your credit but call just to be sure

Just called them up, logged into my chase account today, and it was showing a 2nd card so I got concerned. The CSR confirmed it was a CO Mastercard, and I should be getting it next week. That means it will be almost 3 weeks from when I applied to when I will get it (when I applied for an Amex Gold I had it a little over a week later, guess I got spoiled)
Thanks for the reply
