chase vs Citibank divident rewards

Question
hi all,
Just saw the offer for the Chase visa similar to Citibank dividend reward card.
5% back on supermarkets, gas station, drug store, 1% every thing else.
One more thing chase is offering is 5000 bonus points than can be redeemed for 1% cash back or $50 gift certificate.
Any one had experience with this card.
Can Citibank match that extra bonus, because I was going to apply for their dividend reward card, when I saw chase offer
Any input will be appreciated
thanks

Answer
This doesn't really appear to be "Miles/buzz" related.
I'll go ahead and move this to the "Other credit card programs" forum.

See a recent thread where some differences are discussed:

Also, see this thread on FatWallet about a $100 offer on the Chase card:

Citibank usually does not give out bonus offers on their Dividend Platinum card. Sometimes there is a 5% back on everything for 6 months or something like that. Also look into the AT&T Universal card (run by Citi) which also has a 5% on gas/groceries, 1% on everything else. They seem to run the 5% back on everything promo more often. One option is to apply through cardoffers.com where I believe you can get a $40 rebate (part of the finders fee that Citi gives to them).

thanks acf573 for the input.
Actually Citi® Dividend Platinum Select MC not really a promo. I read terms and called them up. I get 5% for the life of the card.
Read some post about chase, that you kindly provided links for. People say they can’t get gift certificate from chase because they claim they out of checks to send to the people.
is'it really true? alsso looked up cardoffers.com site. seems that i need to become a member to get $40 rebate.
thanks again
sorry, i thing i
Misunderstood your comments about promo. I see now- promo for 5% on everything, not 5% on gas, drugstore for limited time.

I'm not sure about the "out of stock" checks issue. That's just what I've read on FatWallet. I don't actually have the card (but have been considering getting it).
You do need to become a member at CardOffers.com, but that is simply giving them your email address and mailing address (so they know where to mail the check). They don't ever see your SS# or anything like that. And membership is free.
