Question
I have a Upromise credit card that provides a tiny amount of money for my kids college in the distant future. I also have this card listed in my Skymiles account so when I dine at the appropriate restaurants I get miles as well. Any reason that I shouldn't be doing this? And what other cards do you guys use for similiar "double dipping"?

Upromise's and DL's dining programs are run by same company, idine and you won't be able to register your Upromise card with DL dining program and vice-versa.
P.S. If you have Fidelity 529 account, you could appy for its credit card (by MBNA). It gives you 2% cash rebates up to $3000/yr posted to Fidelity 520 account.
Answer
I'm a little confused, here. You say I can't register my upromise card with dl but I already have...I got an email yesterday confirming mileage acquired from recent restaurant visits when I'd used the upromise card to pay.

I thought Upromise cards are registered with its dining program. You just confirmed that wasn's so. :o
Answer
I need to visit the upromise site again, I'm pretty sure I saw some of the same restaurants listed there as on the skymiles restaurant list...I wonder if I'll get upromise credit/points AND skymiles?
Good news abounds, the miles were posted today to my skymiles acct., a mere 5 days after my dining experience. Ain't life grand? Now I'm off to eat out again lol.

Answer
This is not something new. I have various affiliated cards tied to hotel, airline, and other rewards programs and have linked all of them to iDine to earn additional Worldperks miles. It certainly is nice.
Answer
Ha. Well my fun was short lived. I got an email from Upromise today stating
"Our records indicate that the credit card listed below that you registered with Upromise is currently not eligible for college contributions from Upromise Dining. This is because it is currently registered with another dining rewards program. (Please note: you will continue to receive college contributions when using this credit card with other Upromise contributing companies.)"
DH was right all along :o
