Citi Debit Card

Question
I was debating whether to put this in travel, or finance forum, so I put it here.
I'm going to be going to singapore and india in the dec/jan months.
Does anyone know what the FOREIGN CURRNECY CONVERSION/TRANSACTION FEE will be for using a Citi Debit card with MC logo? The lady said it'll be 1% at the CITI ATMs(they have one at the airport which is perfect) but what would it be like if instead of using the ATM, I just use the card at wherever I am going to make a purchase as a signature vs. a pin purchase since either purchase will automatically deduct the money from my acct automatically?
I think that question made sense. Thanks.

Answer
I believe that it's 1% also. I seem to recall seeing something on my Citi statements about all foreign-originated transactions incurring a 1% fee. Never tested it though. I think in general you're better off using a CC instead of a debit card. If something happens, it's not coming directly out of your pocket.
