$2.50 monthly fee after the first 6 months. Opening and rapidly closing credit card accounts can be detrimental to your credit score. So maybe keep it open a year or so, and still make a good profit?

The fee is charged to the gift card. The credit card itself does not have an annual or monthly fee. Hope this clears things up.

I applied for the same offer and checked about a week ago. IIRC, you should receive the visa $100 card 6-8 weeks after your first purchase and there was something about making your first purchase before the end of November.
Is it normal to not receive anything about this promotion when you receive the new card?

When I received the card there was no mention of this offer whatsoever. I made a purchase the first day and now waiting for my bill and eventually the ipod...let's see how smooth this one goes.

TD Waterhouse has a nano promotion, though it's not credit card related. If you open a new account or add to an existing account w/ $50K in cash or securities, you will get a new nano. I forget when this promotion ends. The funds/securities have to stay in the account for at least 6 months. It's not worth it to park cash there because the loss in $$ from their low interest will be about the cost of a nano. If you have securities you aren't doing much with, you can transfer $50K over and take advantage of the offer. However, I believe there are fees for closing an account and also maintenance fees per quarter for < $25K so beware if you are just planning on going in and out.
