Question
I got an email from MyPoints this week and applied for the new MyPoints Rewards Visa card. This one's by Providian and offers a better earning deal than the last card, so I can't wait to start using it to redeem for Hilton HHonors points! Here's the info about the card--I copied and pasted directly from their new site:
° No Annual Fee
° 0% Introductory APR for 6 months on all
purchases and balances transferred now
° 1 Point for ever $1 of purchases on the card
° DOUBLE Points on MyPoints Points-per-Dollar
merchants through 12/31/05*
° 1,000 Points upon first card use within one year
Answer
First, welcome to FlyerTalk niteflite! Thanks for the info.
Be careful with Providian. They are notorious for offering a low rate, then kicking the APR sky high. They also have low tolerace for being late -- even one day late means late fees and punitive APR kicking in.

Answer
Does anyone know what the forex fee is with this card? I'm still using my Amtrak MC for all forex transactions (quite a few, usually) until Oct. 1st, then the forex fee will (presumably) go up to 3% and this card will be immediately cut into tiny pieces and discarded (pun intended :p). I'd even consider a mypoints card if the forex fee is 0%.
