U.S. Visa Infinite Cards

Question
What ever happened to the US issued Visa Infinite Cards. Were they replaced buy the Visa Signature Cards?

Answer
I know a lot of Visa Infinite Card programs have been discontinued, or card members grandfathered while not accepting any new applicants. I'm not sure if it is completely gone, but I know programs who have discontinued the program have replaced former Infinite card members with a Signature program.

Answer
do you know any examples of some? and any that are still accepting members?

National City and Chase. I know Chase just switched their Infinite members to Signature and has permanently terminated their former Infinite program. National City use to offer it to their Private Client Group, but no longer publicizes it on their website. They may still offer it, but highly doubt it.

Did not know that there were US issued Visa Infinite cards. my understanding is that Visa Infinite was a primarily Asia-Pacific product.

Answer
Infinite is a higher level than Signature. Just like AMEX Centurion is higher than Platinum. Centurion and Infinite benefits seem to be on a similar wavelength.

Does this mean that the amex centurion card and visa infinite card are equal in terms of prestiege? Also does the visa infinite card have the power to shut down stores for private shopping sessions like the amex centurion card supposedly has?
thanks!

Centurion cards don't "shut down" stores - the stores keep salesclerks after closing to allow you to shop.

I had both the Centurion Card and the Chase Visa Infinite Card. Chase discontinued the Infinite Cards in June and replaced them with a standard Signature Card (with Flexible Rewards and no annual fee). Enrollment in the Chase Infinite Card was offered to select Private Banking clients. The card had a $150 annual fee.

that's a pretty low annual fee. in singapore, the fee is some US$900. we don't have the signature produce here, however.
