Question
Really confused here! I got 2 offers in the mail. (it's not unusual to get these, but this time I READ them!). The AAdvantage Bronze--1 mile for every $2.00 spent...no annual fee--get 5,000 miles for signing up. AAdvantage Gold--1 mile for every dollar spent..$50.00 annual fee.....get 15,000 miles! APR's the same for both, after 1st purchase the miles are automatically posted into AA account. I can't seem to understand WHY they have sent me 2 different offers with such a vast difference in miles! Any ideas? 15,000 miles for $50.00 seems like a good deal. Ideas?
Answer
15K miles for $50 does sound like a good deal, until you find out that you can get the same deal for free. See the Annual Fees Cards page of the Credit Card section of my website, Free Frequent Flyer Miles (http://www.freefrequentflyermiles.com/index.htm).
Answer
Just signed up for 20,000 miles. That was enough to raise my total past 25,000. Will use card once and put it away as a protest to 3% foreign use charge. As I said in another post:
WARNING: Use out of the country can be hazardous to your wealth!!!

Haven't seen the 20,000 miles. Is that with AAdvantage? Annual fees?

Do you have the link for this offer? Would like to sign up for the 20,000 miles - most I have seen is 12,500. What was the annual fee? Was it waived for 6 months?

My wife received this promo, 20K sign up bonus with no annul free (1st yr) via letter but I haven't. Without getting selected, 15K miles with no annual fee (1st yr) would be the best promo...
Answer
The 20k offer is on the AA website after you sign in. It may be a targeted offer. I do notice that the 20K offer does not include the free companion ticket. However, they do waive the annual fee for the first year.

Please tell us exactly how you navigated to this offer after you logged in. I logged in and looked for it. Found only the 15K offer.
Thanks.

Gary, try this:
http://www.aa.com/apps/netSAAver/ViewPromotionsDetail.jhtml?fileName=O1105_Citi20K_ CnsmrCD_WIDE.xml&repositoryName=PromotionContentRepository&itemDescriptor=PromotionContent&anchorLocation=Homepage_Bottom
I get the promo twice when I go to AA.com. Once at the top (between the Mileage Balance and the Net SAAver alerts) and once at the bottom right (below the mileage summary box). The link works even when I'm not signed in though.
I'm sorely tempted by this offer though I've done so many Citi apps recently...

Can you get the card and promo miles again with AA? If yes, how long should you "safely" wait before doing it again?

This is really strange. Your link works, and I see no restrictions on the offer. But when I go to http://www.aa.com/ I get various adds above the Net Savers box and in the lower right below the mileage summary box. The adds change when I refresh the page. But the best I can get for the credit card is 15,000 miles. Cookies must dictate which offers we get, and the cookies must be dictated by who we are. Do you have any special status with AA?

I get the same two 20,000 miles offers on AA webpage.
I have no status with AA.
I have already an AA Citi Mastercard. Should I apply again?

I received 2 e-mailes from AA for the 15K offer, and it did not even have the companion ticket, so the "targeted" offer I received is actually worse than the general one on aa.com
BTW, the companion ticket certificate can only be used at
Tickets must be booked in V, M, L, K or W inventory
Instead of specified an amount like in the past offers, this time it specifies fare codes. I guess that now airfares went up a lot, for those who are not near a hub, the fares to pay easily exceed the $289 or something like that.
I have never found the companion certificate work in our case as we have not flew anything in the past year that was above $200, coast to coast. You also can only use in lower 48. Now it is even more useless since most our fares were booked in Q.

My girlfriend got the 15,000 mile deal in June. The bonus miles posted a few days after her first statement. Not bad at all.
I'm thinking of cancelling my current AA citicard and trying to get the 20,000 bonus. Even if I don't get the bonus miles, at least the first year will be free.
