Do ATM Euro rates vary by country?

Question
I'm going to Italy, via FRA. Will the ATM exchange rate be the same whether I buy Euros in FRA during the layover or at MXP when I arrive?
(I'm using a Visa PNC card.)

Answer
I don't see why it would be different since the exchange rate is with the EURO - not Euro france, Euro italy. Isn't that one of the reasons for the change to a Euro and not different currencies. How far a Euro goes will certainly be different from country to country. Have fun.

Answer
By the time you go from one ATM to another, the value of the Euro likely will change, but this has nothing to do with being in one country or another. Countries also have different banking laws which may affect ATM surcharges that are imbedded in the withdrawal transaction.

Answer
Only possibility may be the bank which owns the ATMs you use may put a surcharge on it.
In France at least, it seemed the ATMs of most of the major banks there did not have surcharges. And I recall getting pretty close to the interbank rate.
But my credit union doesn't try to slip in any charges either.

Answer
In Italy and France at least, I didnt find an ATM that assessed any noticeable surcharge at all. Perhaps .20 E was in there somewhere, but that's hardly anything at about $ 0.25
