Question
This might have been discussed before, but I couldn't find it with search being disabled.
I'm planning on going to the world cup in Germany next year and one of the requirements is tickets;). The only credit card accepted is MasterCard (http://tickets.fifaworldcup.com/faq/topics/wme_206.htm) and the tickets are charged in Euros. As a result my two cards of choice AmEx Starwood Preferred (not MC) and CitBank AAdvantage (3% currency exchange fee, about to be 4%) are out. My third most used card is (mainly during international travel) is MBNA goldpo1nts - 1% exchange fee and the ability to earn some miles 3(points per $)/8(points per mile), even more if you use it at the right places; reasonable compromise of cost and miles. However, I just noticed that the goldpo1nts card is Visa and not MC:eek:.
It looks to me like my best move now is to get one of the following MBNA MC: eBay (https://wwwa.applyonlinenow.com/USapp/Ctl/redirect?CV_sourceCode=KP4S&CV_MC=A000001QAL)(might even get more miles than with the goldpo1nts card:)), "Cash Back" (https://wwwa.applyonlinenow.com/USapp/Ctl/redirect?CV_sourceCode=QK64) or Elite rewards (https://wwwa.applyonlinenow.com/USapp/Ctl/redirect?CV_sourceCode=SR3Y&CV_MC=A000001IHS). I do not have a Fidelity account, so all these cards will not work for me.
It looks like the best choice might be the "Cash Back" card, I would like to get miles, but only at a reasonable price (up to 1/2 a cent). Can anyone think of a better option?
Thanks in advance,
Sagy

The MBNA Amtrak card is a Mastercard. Free, no extra 2% ripoff curency conversion fee. Points convert to miles on Continental and Midwest (which offers tickets on American.) Full info on the Free Cards page of the Credit Card section of my website, Free Frequent Flyer Miles (http://www.freefrequentflyermiles.com/index.htm).
