Question
Given the many problems people often experience getting frequent flyer miles to post, has anyone successfully disputed a credit card charge for missing miles or points? If so, when, with what credit card company, and was the dispute for part or all of the charge?
I may run into a situation where a shopping portal site might not credit my miles for a legitimate purchase made during a recent promotion period. With bonuses, the missing miles total nearly 7,000 miles. I am trying to look for some leverage, and I am considering calling my credit card company and telling them that I want to dispute part of the credit card charge equal to an amount that it would cost me to buy the same number of miles directly from the ff program. However, I'm not sure I have a reasonable basis for disputing the charge (goods and services not adequately provided?).
