Question
Is the Cathay Pacific Citicard offered to only a select few countries? I'm a US citizen who would like the card, but apparently I can't even apply for it.
It seems I am condemned to the AA card; I like to fly CX can I use the AA miles (from the card of course) for CX?
Thanks to any and all help on this issue.

Yes, AA is a one-world member, so you can use their miles. Another (better?) option would be to get the Alaska Airlines card from Bank of America. You can use Alaska miles on Cathay Pacific.
Answer
Hmm, I suppose AK Air might be better. I can't see why though. It does get the 2 miles for every 1$ if you purchase AK Air tickets. Hmmm I will have to do some research.
Although I don't find it odd that I cannot get the Cathay Card (perhaps to do with the exchange rate?) I am surprised it doesn't disclaim it anywhere that I have looked.
And yes...I have tried to get someone at Citi to explain it but you can only guess where that goes.
BTW thank you for the adivce!

I may have hit submit twice.
