Question
Thinking about a trip to Hong Kong in a few months, and looking at the various offers that Visa Plat will give for some of the HK hotels.
EG: Conrad -
Complimentary upgrade to the next room category plus:
- Complimentary roundtrip airport limousine transfers
- Complimentary breakfast daily
- Complimentary late check-out till 6 p.m.
Marriot -
Complimentary upgrade to the next category of room when paying Standard Corporate Rate
Late check-out till 4 p.m.
These offers are listed at (www.visaplatinum.com/ap) under "Platinum Club" and "Hotels"
My question is for anyone who has taken up one of these deals. Are they worthwhile compared to the standard internet prices you'll get if you book online? While the features are nice, if you end up paying $100 more per night than the standard "Joe Public" rates they aren't as worthwhile...
Answer
Not sure how much the difference between internet rate vs corporate rate, but the taxi fare from the airport to Conrad, Pacific Place alone is already ~ HKD 400.
Cheers,
PN
Answer
My experience has been that corporate rates are better, but you can ask the Visa concierge for a quote, or there should be some code buried at the bottom of the T&Cs that you can use at the hotel booking page. The room upgrade and late check-out are subject to availability at check-in so not guaranteed during peak periods..
