Standard vs. no-fee - What's the breakeven point?

Question
Since I'm now able to put most of my charges on an Amex I'm considering changing my NWA Signature Visa to a no-fee Visa. Has anyone else done this and, if so, at what level of annual charges would you switch to the no-fee card?

Answer
If you are spending less than $20K - probably even less than $10K its not worth it.
Get a fee free card than earns you 1 mile/$ like the Amtrak one and use SPG Amex for everything else.

It's not just the level of annual charges, it's also how much you value those PARTICULAR miles.
Ie, if you use your fee Visa to TOP OFF to high-value awards that you couldn't top off any other way, those miles may be more valuable than general miles you just accumulate for some far-off awards, or miles which are dwarfed in either case (1 mile/$ or 1 miles/2$) by earnings from other sources.
It also depends if you place any value on the other perks (such as discounted awards or bonus offers you might get with a fee card but may or may not get with the no-fee card).
In the case of NWA, I just read (for the first time) in another current thread in this section that someone had downgraded to the no-fee NWA and it still counted for their NWA add-up-the-partners promo. That sounds nice.
