Question
Hello Everyone!
I'm about to cancel my MP Visa since I already had it for a year and don't really want to pay for an annual fee anymore.
I know that the Amtrak MC is great but I'd really want to have a Visa card since I already have a Master Card.
What I'm pretty much interested in is a card that can earn points for either discounts/free merchandise from different merchants.
The free travel thing is not a big factor since I earn most of my miles by flying...not with the cc purchases.
There are a lot of great MC cards out there but I can't seem to find any decent Visa cards.
Thanks in advance for the info!
Regards,

Answer
Merrill Lynch's Merrill+ Visa is a good no annual fee card. I have the card and got a fixed 5.7 APR with a very generous credit line. You can read about the card here:

Answer
There is also the new MBNA Quantum WorldPoints Visa that gives 1 point per dollar and can be redeemed for cash, merchandise, flights and vacation travel.
Answer
US Bank offers no fee WorldPerks visa also.
Answer
Citi has offered several different cards to meet your need:

I think you will be happy with the Merrill+ card. There is another thread in the Amex forum discussing thoughts about the Merrill card giving Amex a run for their money.

Hi lin821,
I've been trying to update a dormant WorldPerks account so that I don't lose all my miles (it's been almost 3 years since I've had miles posted), and I didn't want to pay an annual fee of $55. Would you be able to show me a link to this no fee WorldPerks Visa? I've only been able to find one where they want a $55 annual fee for the Plat. Visa Card.
Thanks in advance.
Answer
You are correct. I guess they raised it .2% for new applicants. Mine is still at 5.7%, but I was one of the first to get mine when they started issuing the Merrill+

Well, I don't have the link but will try my best.
I found out about the no-fee WP visa when I decided to cancell the one with annual fee after the 1st yr was up. I called the customer services and was asked why I didn't want the keep my account. I told them about the annual fee and was offered to switch to the no-fee card that would still earn me NW miles. (It's a new account with two dollars/1 mile though.) I accepted the offer and was taken care of over the phone. If you like, you may be able to try this phone-in method. Or if US Bank has a branch around your area or you will concider doing business with them, you may want to try the WorldPerks Visa Check Card option via the following link. Do remember to make sure you nail the enrollment bonus for either one.

Second thought. Not sure if you meant a dormant WP visa account or just WP account. If the latter, you probably can just try some good suggestions from the other thread about keeping expiring miles alive:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=374685
Or you may even do a little bit of holiday/business shopping via the NW Mall link, such as office supplies from OfficeMax. If you think I can be of more help, PM me. Good luck.

Hi - I recently got Citi's shiny new PremierPass card, which is free. There is an Elite version that you do pay for but of course has better goodies. If I flew more often these days, I'd have gone for that one.
The link that yyyccclll gave above will take you to all the details. It seems like a good program!
Happy Flying!

I'm not sure why I was offered this, but I've got a CapitalOne no fee card with a 2% cash rebate payable on the renewal date each year. No caps -- just had a $201 "annual rebate" credit post to my account. I'm not what they would call a good customer -- I pay this card off every month. But except for the various 5% gas and grocery rebates that Citi offers and the two month 5% rebate on everything, $100 limit that Citi-ATT offered, this is about as good as it gets, I think.
