Question
Has anybody paid their cc bill at a Citi local branch? My due date is tomorrow, and I fear it's too late to fund my checking account first, then pay online. I called Citi and they said, yes, you can pay at a local branch and still meet the deadline. But I also heard that the credit card and the retail banking businesses were quite disconnected and that payments may take a while to post. Any experiences?

Look on your bill and see what options there are for paying CASH!
Here in Australia we can pay citibank cards at the local post office, funds posted instantly.
Sorry..my answer may not be what you are seeking, but I had to try..since time is of the essence.
Answer
If you have checking acct with citi, you can do transfer between accts.
You need to link the cc to your ATM card. You can either link your acct at the web site or have the branch officer do it for you. Also, the 24hr customer service can do it for you too. Then do the transfer either at the ATM or citi web site.
Fund the $$ to your checking and transfer the money to your credit card acct. The transation is pleted when you have done.
When you pay by your citibank check, the $$ will be withdraw on the same day, if you pay before the business hour.
Good luck..

Having a similar problem, I paid at a branch. I was told the payment would post that day. It did.

Update: It turns out that thanks to ING-Direct I was able to fund my (non Citi) bank account today (the due date). So, I went to citi.com and tried to use the click-to-pay feature. To my horror, the CTP only allowed me to pay $1000!! Of course, being a miles fAAnatic, my balance was huuge. So... I just paid the $1K online, and then rushed to the local branch to pay the rest by check, just minutes before the 1pm (ET) deadline. The teller (a hottie, BTW) told me that the payment would post right away. My concern was first, to avoid paying a late fee, and second, to avoid paying interest by carrying a balance.
Thanks for the replies!!
Answer
Check the next month statement. If you get charge with any finacial charge or late fees, call 800 customer service. Citi will waive all fees if this is the irst time for you.
Good luck..

This is great to know.
I, too, had the problem of not being able to pay more than $1000 the FIRST time. Paid the 1st $1000 yesterday, then zipped off a check this a.m. in hopes it will reach NJ and post before 1pm Nov 3 (are banks closed Election Day?). Called Citi, explained what had happend, they told me to call back after the next statement posted.

I have found that in Miami, the payments post the same day, as well as in California. Also, if you pay with cash, it is credited to your available credit instantly. I like to go shopping with friends, they give me the cash and POOF! There it is!
PEACE!
