Just something to file away in the archives as an FYI...

"Apply by Aug. 16 and get a $129 companion certificate..."
The fine print reads as follows: "Valid between Sept. 15 and Dec. 15 '04, blackout dates <xx>, this certificate will be fulfilled by the end of the month following the month in which your new WP Visa is approved" (their emphasis, not mine).
Ok, I apply on Aug. 15, expecting the CC by the end of September. Nothing. So I call CS, that rep tells me he'll note my account and have the "investigation team" that looks into these matters contact me by mail within 10 business days. Guess what, it's Oct. 18, still nothing. So I call again today, "where's my damn certificate?!?" (not in those words, but I felt like it). This rep tells me that it gets processed 6-8 weeks after my first purchase was made. But lady, the fine print CLEARLY says otherwise ..."well, I'm sorry for that sir..." Great. Well, that first purchase came on Aug. 31 so it looks like I'm waiting until the end of this month.

Well the good news is that I did get the annual fee waived and 7500 bonus miles, but shame on them for the misleading certificate terms. Maybe this is old news, but just an FYI to those in the future....
