Question
Both me and my friend applied for the Citi Cash rebate card. Both of us never received 5% cash rebate on special purchases. Only one of us bother to call Citi bank. After going through my friend's account, the CSR agree to credit him current month's missing points but not those from previous months.
The question is: you think the software is set up to identify special purchases or Citi bank manually go through each customer's statement?? :td:

I dont know about special purchases, but mine had a promotion attached to it, that anything was 5% up till Aug 20. Things went without glitch until Aug 20 came and of course the statement for that period was a split - 5% till aug 20 and after that back to 5% groceries, drugstore, gasoline, and 1% everything else. I had a few hundreds worth items did not get 5% eventhough they were made prior Aug 20. So I called and the CSR noted down I protested the dividend calculation.
2 weeks later, I received a letter informing me the adjustment and I saw the adjustment appeared on this period's statement. Frankly I was quite satisfactory for the manner and speed they handled this.

i have been using this card for a long time now and just signed up with the 5% thing for my account (previously was all 1%) are ya'll telling me that i have to manually go into my statements and calculate how many percentage i got from the purchases that i have made and if i don't do that..then i'll be short changed???

Check your first statement. They lump the rebates together so you won't know which transaction got the bonus. Call them back right away if you don't receive the bonus because they won't reward bonus earned from previous months.
