I have a UA MP Visa Gold card which allows for getting 1/$2 miles on balance transfers. Currently I moved my car loan to a non-miles card because they were giving me 3.99% for the life of the balance transfer. So I have $20,000 on the non-miles card, and a bunch of convenience checks left for the 3.99% rate.
UA MP Visa Gold charges a 3%, but $50 max for balance transfers. Anyone see a problem with moving the money to the Visa Gold and then moving it back to the 3.99 card with a convenience check (perhaps multiple times)?
That would net 10,000 miles for $50. 1/2 cent per mile. (The convenience checks have no fees).
Pitfalls with this idea?
