Chase/CO world Mastercard

Question
Hello,
Does anyone have an opinion on this card? I need a Mastercard to pay for Hyatt stays and get FFN's. I thought since i was only going to use this card for that purpose and I'm a OnePass member i could "double dip" and get CO miles as well. Do you think the $85 fee is worth the 10,000 onepass miles for signing up? Any other thoughts about this card?
Thanks,
W

I had the card for two years and had no complaints with it. I decided to switch FF programs, so I left CO and traded the Worldcard in for a Chase plat. I was under the older program that did not have any companion vouchers or anything like that.
FYI, on your credit report, this card will show up as a charge card...meaning your credit limit will not show.

This is true, but unlike an Amex charge card, the monthly balance on a World MC product is included in your total debt outstanding used by the CRAs to calculate your FICO scores.
But the downside is that it is the total credit limit isn't included in your credit utilization ratio, so any large balance kept on the card from month-to-month looks like you have maxxed out the card....a real FICO-killer.

The discussion on this post seemed to be going in the direction of my questions, so I'm posting here. I current have the Chase Continental card and am looking to get rid of it. I've had the card for a while and have a decent credit limit on it, so I'm concerned about getting rid of my relationship with Chase entirely. If I just cancel it, will it adversely affect my FICO score? If so, I need a Chase no-fee card to transfer my credit limit to. Any suggestions there? I'm fine with a cash back card, although their current offering of up to 1% for no balance is not very appealing to me.

Answer
The Amtrak Mastercard through MBNA permits you to earn Continental miles and does not carry an annual fee.

The problem is I think I need to get a Chase card of some type. I wouldn't need it to accumulate Nonepass miles. I just need a Visa/MC as a backup. My primary card now is *wood Amex. I just was wondering if anyone had an opinion as to which is the best free one offered by Chase.

You can go for the Chase Perfect Card (3% back on gas purchases, 1% back on everything else). I think this card has no fee if you make at least 6 or 7 gas purchases a year. I forgot the exact number.
The Chase Travel Rewards card is a nice alternative to the World because you can get One Pass miles for no fee (earns one point per dollar and can transfer in 1,000 point increments to One Pass account).

I converted my Continental World Card to the plain ole Chase Platinum card with no annual fee.

Travel Rewards looks nice. I read the Terms and Conditions (http://www.chasetravelrewards.com/enroll/terms.cfm) of the Travel Rewards program. It looks like cardmembers of the plain vanilla Chase cards can join for $25 or with 3,500 points. I called customer service and was told Chase Travel Rewards card holders get the first year in the program free and will then have to pay the fee. Not that I doubt customer service, but can anyone who has the card confirm that?
The main drawback is the 25K cap on transfers out of the program into Continental miles. There are also caps on monthly (10K) and yearly (80K) point accumulation. Since this wouldn't be my primary card, I don't mind any of that. In addition, there's a fee for redemption of most of the rewards. Customer service told me there's no fee for converting points into Continental miles, hotel certificates, or rental car rewards. Again, not that I doubt customer service, but can anyone confirm that? I'm especially interested in the no-fee Continental airlines transfer.

I actually have the Chase Travel Rewards card and I think it has no annual fee (first year and beyond). I think the annual fee is associated with linking a regular Chase card to the Travel Rewards program, not with the card with the rewards built-in.
Here is the link to the Travel Rewards card:

Answer
Have you used any of your points yet? I'm curious how the fees are applied, especially if you've converted points to Continental miles.
