Car Rental & Mastercard Travel Insurance Question

Question
All:
I will be renting a car in the UK later this year through Europcar using my Gold Mastercard. Does the travel/auto insurance which comes with my Gold Mastercard provide me with sufficient coverage in the case of the rental car being damaged, stolen, etc.? I have heard conflicting stories and was hoping that y'all could shed some light in this regard.
Sorry - one more question. In the US, rental companies allow customers a one hour grace period for returns. i.e. if the rental is due back at 9:00am, you have until 9:59am to return the car without incurring additional charges [e.g. an extra hour or extra day]. Is this true with Europcar in the UK? Any takers?
Cheers,
Parkesy

Answer
Having been burnt by this I suggest you call the card company and ask them to send the terms and conditions on rental car coverage that apply to your particular card. There is the potential for different terms to in place to other card holders depending on when you joined and whether they have updated your terms in writing.
You should be covered in the UK though but watch out for: max rental periods, acceptable vehicle types, using your card at all stages in the rental process.
